The 2026 edition of TUNE is brimming with spirit and energy. In this series of short sound residencies, invited artists work across genres, with influence and ideas spanning generations. TUNE brings us to the present moment, the right here and right now, for an exhilarating experience of live music, with artists singing of both pleasure and pain in the face of the peculiar time that defines our present.

Nestled within the ECHOES programme, Lechuga Zafiro presents his wide and complex rhythmic-timbral universe, 7038634357 offers emotive and ambient songwriting, and Damsel Elysium conjures ancestral knowledge and the unconscious through visceral and embodied performance. NEW YORK, a music project by the artists Gretchen Lawrence and Coumba Samba, combines a dry take on the maximalist sounds of electro with a vocal style that is both intimate and nonchalant to create a dizzying soundtrack set to digitally mediated urban existence. Composer and multi-instrumentalist. Angel Bat Dawid creates the stage as a portal to a higher dimension and a place for her vibrant and transformative approach to music-making. In April, there will be a rare performance by the musician, composer and producer Jim O’Rourke. He will be appearing at Haus der Kunst alongside Eiko Ishibashi, who blends jazz, experimental pop and contemporary classical music in her solo work, collaborations and film scores. In May, TUNE collaborates with the legendary RITOURNELLE festival and BLITZ club to present a full line-up of artists including Authentically Plastic. As the founder of ANTI-MASS, the riotous club nights in Kampala, they opened up space for femme, queer, and experimental artists defying Uganda’s increasingly repressive social climate. Arto Lindsay, joined by Melvin Gibbs in June, brings noise, dissonance, and a love of trance-inducing Brazilian carnival sounds. In September, Florian Hecker pushes perception beyond familiar sensory boundaries and treating the medium of sound as an active agent that reshapes how we experience reality.

Angel Bat Dawid

Angel Bat Dawid is a Chicago-based musician, clarinetist, and composer whose work spans free jazz, spiritual jazz, and avant-garde improvisation. Rooted in the tradition of the AACM (Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians) and Sun Ra’s cosmic philosophy, her music channels ancestral memory, Black liberation theology, and deep listening into dense, emotionally charged sonic landscapes. Her debut album The Oracle (2019), recorded entirely on her phone, announced her as a fierce and uncompromising voice, layering clarinet, vocals, piano, and electronics.

NEW YORK

NEW YORK is a girl-pop music and performance project by artists Gretchen Lawrence and Coumba Samba. The sampling of royalty free loops and sounds of clicks and cuts are met with chopped vocals and impulsive lyrics. NEW YORK chews up the sounds and visuals of hip hop, pop, and electro and spits them out on to the city streets. From their self-released debut No Sleep Till N.Y. (2022) to the concept album Rapstar (2024) and their new EP Push (2025), NEW YORK continue to reinvent themselves, drawing friends and collaborators into the process and continually reshaping their sound.
