For TUNE in December, Joan La Barbara will perform Sound Paintings – The Music of Joan La Barbara live at Haus der Kunst 5.12.26 and 6.12.26, and will also take part in an artist talk.
Composer, performer, sound artist, and actor Joan La Barbara is renowned for her pioneering experimental and extended vocal techniques, which have influenced generations of composers and singers. Her collaborations with Steina, Vocalizations and Voice Windows, both featured in "Steina: Playback", extend the voice into a dynamic audiovisual space, exploring the relationship between vocal performance and live electronic image processing.
