Activated by Francesca Ceccherini and Kaur Chimuk, Co-Listening Ritual (Where are we?) invites participants into a shared session of deep listening, lying down and moving through a sonic journey. Developed during a residency at KHOJ, Delhi, the ritual unfolds as a composition that takes shape over time, followed by a circle workshop and a moment of collective reflection.
Introduced by a shared meal during Open Haus starting at 6 pm, the evening creates a space for togetherness and exchange, where listening becomes a way of attuning to one another. The co-listening gathering extends Haus der Kunst’s engagement with sound and its practices through the monthly series of short sound residencies TUNE and the annual live exhibition ECHOES, while also connecting to Tomás Saraceno’s exploration of interconnected systems and forms of relation.
The project is part of Francesca Ceccherini’s broader research Co-listening: Sound Practices and Processes of Repair from the Indian Subcontinent, supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council programme (14th edition, 2025), as well as by several cultural partners, including MAP Museum of Art & Photography (IND), KHOJ International Artists’ Association (IND), Kochi-Muziris Biennale (IND), The Listening Biennial (INT), Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen (CH), Haus der Kunst (DE), La Pop (FR), CRISAP – Creative Research into Sound Art Practice (UK), and Sound Studies Lab (DK).
