For TUNE in November, harpist and composer Miriam Adefris will give two live solo performances at Haus der Kunst on 13.11.2026 and 14.11.2026 and take part in an artist talk.
Working with the acoustic harp and live electronic processing, Adefris creates solo sets that are both improvised and structured and bring together a wide range of influences from classical to experimental to jazz. Her work investigates the texture of sound and its relationship to its surroundings, creating alternative forms of connection through attentive, spatial listening.
Adefris' sound piece A Hundred Vast Proximities is currently installed in the Terrassensaal, for which she drew inspiration from feelings of vastness and intimacy, exploring how both can coexist within the same time and space.
Each year, two artists from the TUNE programme are selected to create a sound installation for the Terrassensaal, presented for six months.
Curated by Sarah Miles with Aditi Kapoor.

Miriam Adefris is a harpist and composer based in London. She utilises the analogue harp sound and electronic processing, with an interest in textures and the reciprocity of sound and surrounding. Rooted in both improvisation and composed structures, her solo sets aim to immerse and create auditory experiences that offer alternate ways of connection. She amalgamates diverse musical influences which include studies of classical harp in Vienna and her immersion in London’s rich experimental and jazzmusic scene.Apart from playing her own music, collaborating with other artists as well as creating sound installations and music for visuals are a main focus of her work.
