Info

The October edition of TUNE is dedicated to the New York City based musician, mystic and laughter meditation practitioner Laraaji.
In this one-hour workshop, he invites children and adults to explore the power of laughter through playful interaction, call & response, collective movement and meditation—all supported by live music and sound. The session creates a space for transformative joy and collective experience, where participants can discover laughter as a practice of connection and relaxation.

Recommended age: The workshop is especially designed for children aged 6 to 12, but is open to all participants aged 6 and above (children must be accompanied by adults).

This event is part of the Oktober edition of TUNE, dedicated to Laraaji’s multifaceted artistic practice. Active since the 1970s, he first gained recognition performing trance-inducing improvisations on a modified autoharp in the streets of New York. A chance encounter with Brian Eno led to the landmark Ambient 3: Day of Radiance (1980), released as part of Eno’s seminal Ambient series. In recent years, Laraaji’s work has been widely celebrated, with reissues of his extensive catalogue on labels including Numero Group, Glitterbeat, and Leaving Records.

In 2022, Laraaji was commissioned by artist Cyprien Gaillard to create an ethereal ambient soundscape for the reactivation of Jacques Monestier’s kinetic sculpture Le Défenseur du Temps (1979), presented at Lafayette Anticipations and Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Note: The workshop will be guided in English. A translating assistant will be present.
