“Help” Workshop
Help Indonesian artist Agus Nur Amal PMTOH build his new artwork for the upcoming summer exhibition “For Children. Art Histories Since 1968”, opening on 18.7.25.
The workshop runs for five days during the Pentecost holidays, from 16–20.6.25, daily from 10 am to 4 pm.
Who is Agus Nur Amal PMTOH?
Agus Nur Amal PMTOH was born on Weh Island (Aceh, Sumatra) in Indonesia. He studied art and theatre in the capital city of Jakarta and has since worked as an artist, actor, and storyteller.
He especially enjoys telling stories to children – often about complex topics such as politics, natural disasters, or public health systems. For his storytelling, he has created a unique television-like device that “broadcasts” his own programs.
What is the theme of his artwork for “For Children. Art Histories Since 1968”?
For our exhibition, Agus will create a new work that focuses on the topic of a natural disaster and how people respond to it.
He wants to show that in the face of crisis, people often come together and help one another. He says: “When a major disaster happens – like an earthquake, a flood, or a hurricane – it can be very scary, and many people may need help. But during these difficult times, something special happens: people begin to help each other! That’s called ‘mutual aid’, which means everyone works together to make things better. That’s what I’m interested in.”
There are 15 spots available for children aged 8 to 12 years.
