This study day explores technological kinship, the relationships and social systems that shape artificial intelligence. It is developed in connection with OMSK Social Club’s project OUR BR00D. The programme asks not only how we build and train AI, but also what kind of world is being created through AI today — and what other worlds could we bring into being instead?

This study day explores questions of technological kinship and the social architectures that shape artificial intelligence. Developed in relation to OMSK Social Club’s project OUR BR00D, the programme examines not only how we shape AI within this world but rather what kind of world is being shaped through AI. And what other worlds could we bring into being instead?

Building on this artistic proposition, the study day brings together voices from philosophy, AI research, and critical theory to examine the social architectures that shape contemporary AI systems. Two thematic sessions frame the discussion. Worlding looks at how stories, simulations, and speculative ideas shape the way we imagine reality. Reproductive Infrastructures focuses on the politics of training, asking how AI systems are maintained and reproduced, and whose labour, data, and social relations make that possible.

Between the discussions, OMSK Social Club will lead short somatic research sessions. Through movement, breath, and simple relational exercises, participants are invited to metabolise the ideas of the day in a physical way. As an extension of the live exhibition Echoes and part of the artistic process, the study day becomes an experiment in different ways of learning — where thinking happens not only through conversation, but also through the body.

Admission:
The lectures will be held in English, German live captions will be available. The full program will be announced soon.

The programme is conceived by Sarah Johanna Theurer in close dialogue with OMSK Social Club and David Goldberg.

OMSK Social Club’s project OUR BR00D, a role-played experimental performance that speculates on what artificial intelligence might become if trained through frameworks of collective care rather than hegemonic models of reproduction, ownership, and control. Reimagining AI training as a messy, relational, and embodied process, OUR BR00D approaches the development of artificial intelligence as something nurtured within networks of human and non-human relations.

OUR BR00D by OMSK Social Club is commissioned by ArkDes (Stockholm) and Nieuwe Instituut (Rotterdam) with developmental support from Shedhalle (Zürich) and Callie’s (Berlin). The second stage of development is produced with Haus der Kunst (Munich) as part of the Art & AI programme of the Kulturstiftung des Bundes. Haus der Kunst project partners are the Artificial Intelligence in Culture and Arts (AICA) Digitalization College at MUC.DAI, Munich University of Applied Sciences, and the Wavelab at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
