Cancelled | Due to personal circumstances, Judy Chicago is unfortunately not be able to attend the exhibition opening and give an artist talk as planned. She sends her deepest regrets. We hope that there will be another opportunity to host her at Haus der Kunst. In the meantime we look forward to welcoming you to experience her Feather Room in the exhibition.

Feminist icon Judy Chicago is best known for her art practice that critically questions (male) power structures in society as well as the role of women. She generates a unique imagery that promotes a female quality in art, which is impressively demonstrated in her enveloping environment Feather Room that is on display in the exhibition “Inside Other Spaces. Environments by Women Artists 1965-1976”. For this artist talk, Andrea Lissoni, co-curator of “Inside Other Spaces”, and Sabine Brantl, head of archive at Haus der Kunst, lead a conversation with Chicago to discuss her versatile and multi-layered oeuvre. Emanating from the artist’s feminist examination of societal, political and economic power structures, the conversation will feature a critical analysis of Haus der Kunst’s history in relation to its artistic programme.
