Over Ascension Day, Haus der Kunst is organising a three-day event for children, teenagers and young adults together with the Munich music label “Public Possession”: MMMHaus. Meet Make Move.

In various rooms of the museum, there will be workshops on handicrafts, cooking, music, print, sports, drawing and more. Join friends of Haus der Kunst and Public Possession on walks through the English Garden. Sit on the museum terrace and look up at the sky while children paint it with Goa colours. On Friday night there will be another legendary party with Public Possession, this time in the Terrassensaal of Haus der Kunst. Tickets for the party are available in advance and at the box office.

Apart from the party, the entire programme is free of charge and no prior registration is required.

Riso & Screenprint with HERR & FRAU RIO & Matias Becker

HERR & FRAU RIO are Sascha Wellm & Laura Sirch. They have been friends since they studied communication design at Hochschule München. Together they run Munich‘s only risography studio.

Matias Becker is a freelance artist and enthusiastic screen printer. He has been a lecturer at the International Munich Art Lab since 2009. With his help, you can print the MMMHaus motifs on textiles.

Sound Raum (Terrassensaal)

Manuela Illera and David Blitz are COSMICA BANDIDA, a Colombian-German transdisciplinary art collective and band that explores the materiality of sound through installations, objects and performances. 

2.30 – 5.30 pm
Radio Workshop with Radio 80000

Haus der Kunst is starting a new cooperation with Radio 80000, a non-commercial community radio station that broadcasts live from ZIRKA in the north of Munich every day from 8 am to midnight.

The workshop is aimed at children and young people who want to create and broadcast their own radio programme.

The Tokyo-born Japanese pianist Masako Ohta is active in the fields of classical and new music, improvisation, film scoring and as a performative composer.

12.30 – 1.30 pm with Beni Brachtel
Title: Social Synthesizer
About: Shaping sounds together
Time: 3 x 20 min
Age: 8 12 years

Beni Brachtel has been working as a freelance composer, sound artist and music producer since 2010. He is part of the team around Ersan Mondtag working on the German Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale.

2 – 3 pm with Matthias Well

Title: Musical trip around the world, on the violin for children and adults
About: Listen to the violin!
Time: 1 x 60 min (entry flexible)
Age: 4yrs & older

Matthias Well studied at the Munich UniversiMatthias University of Music and Theatre with Mikyung Lee and ty completed two master’s programmes in addition to his bachelor’s degree, which he completed with distinction.

3.30 – 4.30 pm with Sophia Jani
Title: Musical Patterns
About: Exploring and composing Minimal Music
Time: 1 x 60min.
Age: 14 – 19 years

Sophia Jani is a composer of contemporary classical music. She is the current Composer in Residence of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.

5 – 6 pm with Simon Popp
Title: Drumming
About: Drumming on things
Time: 2 x 30 min
Age: ca. 10 – 16 years

Simon Popp is a drummer and composer playing solo and in various band formations like Fazer and Poeji. Together with Enji he will perform live at the big MMMHaus Party.

With Sabine Brantl & Franz Rauch

Sabine is in charge of the archive at Haus der Kunst. Franz is the manager of the legendary P1. Together they are planning the anniversary exhibition “40 years of P1”.

1 – 2 pm
With Olaf Nicolai & Public Possession

Olaf is an artist and professor at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. Valentino and Marvin founded Public Possession, they are co-hosting MMMHaus together with the museum.

4 – 5 pm
With Manuela Illera & Sianza Zink

Manuela is an interdisciplinary artist and performer. Sianza is a DJ and is part of Radio 80000.

Cook and share food with Caspar Plautz (sold out).

Caspar Plautz has a stall at the Viktualienmarkt that is all about potatoes. For years, people have been queuing up to get their hands on one of the many potato dishes on the lunch menu.
