About Künstlergespräch & Film screening: Laure Prouvost und Julienne Lorz%

For the fourth edition of DER ÖFFENTLICHKEIT − Von den Freunden Haus der Kunst Laure Prouvost has created an installation including sculpture, video, and an ambitious spatial intervention. With her inimitable sense of humor and imaginative flair, Prouvost addresses the architectural setting of the Middle Hall in Haus der Kunst, as well as the art institution itself.

Julienne Lorz will talk with the artist about her site-specific installation for Haus der Kunst, as well as her way of working and combining various media, and her approach to blur the boundaries between reality and fiction. In addition, Laure Prouvost will present a selection of her videos.

Laure Prouvost (born in 1978 in Paris Raubaix, France) lives and works in Antwerp and London. She received the prestigious Turner Prize in 2013 and has exhibited internationally at renowned institutions such as Tate Britain and Whitechapel Gallery in London; Portikus in Frankfurt; Neuer Berliner Kunstverein in Berlin; and New Museum in New York. She has participated in international film festivals and twice won the first prize at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
