Nicholas Hlobo

Nicholas Hlobo completed his studies at the Technikon Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. His work has been displayed internationally including solo exhibitions at the Museum Beelden aan Zee in The Hague, the National Museum of Architecture and Design in Oslo, the South African National Gallery in Cape Town, Tate Modern in London, and the ICA Boston. Hlobo has also participated in various group shows at institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington DC, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and the Fundacao Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon. In 2011, Hlobo participated in the 54th edition of the Venice Biennale "ILLUMInations" and his work was also included in the 18^th Sydney Biennale (2012), and La Triennale at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris (2012).
