Kerstin Stakemeier

Kerstin Stakemeier is a Berlin-based educator and writer. She works as a professor of Art Theory and Mediation at the Academy of Arts Nuremberg and contributes to a range of journals such as Artforum and Texte zur Kunst. Alongside Nina Köller, she initiated the "Space for Actualization" in Hamburg in 2007-08 and has published, amongst other works, Painting-The Implicit Horizon (with Avigail Moss 2012), Power of Materials/Politics of Materiality (2012), The Present of the Future (with Susanne Witzgall, 2014/16), Reproducing Autonomy (with Marina Vishmidt, 2016), and Entgrenzter Formalismus (Debordered Formalism, 2017). She is also a long-term contributor to the exhibition and magazine project „Klassensprachen / Class Languages“, (alongside Manuela Ammer, Eva Birkenstock, Jenny Nachtigall, and Stephanie Weber), which will commence with two group shows in Berlin and Düsseldorf.
