Symposium 75/20 Day 2: Okwui Enwezor — Welcome

The second day of the symposium elaborates on questions introduced by the exhibition "Histories in Conflict: Haus der Kunst and the Ideological Uses of Art, 1937-1955", which analyzes the international dimension of Haus der Kunst’s history between 1933/37 and 1955. The role of architecture in the contexts of power and ideology will be as important a topic as Western postwar exhibition politics, with specific consideration of Western Germany's political and social democratization.
