Artist Talk with Michael Armitage and Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor

Michael Armitage and Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor share a long friendship and a similar artistic approach to current Kenyan events. Like Armitage’s paintings, in which different cultural influences and themes are superimposed in complex painterly layers, Owuor is known for her polyphonic and dense prose, which explores global themes while remaining embedded in the East African region.

Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor (*1968 in Kenya, lives and works in Nairobi) is an award-winning author and is considered one of the most important voices in contemporary African literature.
