About this exhibition catalogue

FRANZ ERHARD WALTHER Shifting Perspectives is the catalogue to the eponymous exhibition on the artist Franz Erhard Walther (*1939, Fulda) at the Haus der Kunst in Munich. The retrospective is dedicated to Walther’s entire oeuvre. Walther – winner of the Golden Lion at the 2017 Venice Biennale – is a key figure in the departure from the image since the European postwar period. Beyond the classical understanding of sculpture and painting, Walther formulated a completely new concept of work that included the viewer as an actor.

The catalogue with contributions by Jana Baumann (Ed.), Kolja Reichert, Gregor Quack and Gaëtane Verna will be published by Hatje Cantz and is available from April 20th, 2020.
Artist contributions by Christian Jankowski, John Bock und Stef Heidhus.
Graphic Design by Harald Pridgar.
49 €; 256 pages/ with ca. 200 coloured illustrations
