About this exhibition catalogue
The first institutional solo exhibition in Germany by the U.S.-American artist Tony Cokes also marks the first comprehensive collaboration between Haus der Kunst München and Kunstverein München is the result of an extensive dialog between the artist, the institutions, and their archives. With “Fragments, or just Moments”, Cokes connects the two nearby venues with new commissions that are presented in the institutions as well as in the public spaces between them.
This publication translates stills from Cokes's newly commissioned work Some Munich Moments 1937–1972 into the book format and includes two new essays by Tina Campt and Tom Holert, an introduction that establishes the variety of sources and individuals involved in the project, as well as an index of the research material.
Published by Haus der Kunst München (Emma Enderby, Elena Setzer) and Kunstverein München e.V. (Maurin Dietrich, Gloria Hasnay, Gina Merz)
