Franz Erhard Walther (*1939 in Fulda) - winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale 2017 - is a key figure in the turning away from the image since the post-war period in Europe. Beyond the classical understanding of sculpture and painting, he formulated a completely new concept of work that includes the viewer as an actor.
