Event overview

Many places of queer movement and encounter have always been hidden, fleeting or have disappeared completely from Munich's cityscape. At the Forum Queer Archive Munich, the testimonies of Munich's LGBTI* history find a home that is basically accessible to everyone.

The guided tour explains how the queer archive works and gives an insight into the ideas behind the exhibition design. In a joint discussion, the participants will explore the question of how to collect the traces of queer spaces.

The Munich architect Stefan Gruhne developed the scenography for the exhibition "Archives in Residence: Forum Queer Archive Munich" in collaboration with Sabine Brantl. In 2020/21, he researched queer spaces as part of a teaching assignment at the Technical University of Munich. Stefan Gruhne is an active member of Forum Queeres Archiv München e.V.
