Event overview

For “Die Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen”, Haus der Kunst will be open from 6 pm to 1 am.

You can visit the following exhibitions at Haus der Kunst:

“Joan Jonas”
Joan Jonas (b. 1936) is a key figure in the fields of performance, video and installation. Over the past five decades, she has extended the boundaries of art. Both poetic and political, the artist’s work reflects her interest in movement, music, concepts of female identity, the environment, as well as natural and urban landscapes.

At 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm, 8.30 pm, 9.30 pm, 10.30 pm and 11.30 pm, our art educators will welcome you for tours through the exhibition “Joan Jonas“. Each tour lasts about 30 minutes.

The meeting point is in the central hall in front of the exhibition entrance. Participation is free of charge.

“Tony Cokes. Fragments, or just Moments”
With “Fragments, or just Moments”, Haus der Kunst stages a survey exhibition that brings together selected audio-visual works from Tony Cokes’ œuvre. His fast-moving audiovisual works are based on found text fragments and pop music, stemming from different times and contexts. Cokes addresses the role of image and sound for ideological manipulation, warfare, exploitation, and the capitalist system inherently based on racist thinking.

The ticket for “Die Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen” costs 15 € and allows admission to all participating venues for one adult with up to four children (up to and including 14 years). It is also valid as a ticket for the MVG shuttle buses, which run every 10 minutes between the participating venues.

The ticket can be purchased in advance at the ticket agencies and the webshop of München Ticket. On the day of the event, it can be bought from 1 pm at the ticket office at Haus der Kunst and at all participating venues.
