Video Workshop Try it!

The current exhibitions inspire us to create an experimental film sequence. We explore possibilities of expression through film:  light, shadows, zoom, editing. You will be producing short films and individual stories that you can edit and add a soundtrack to in a studio and under professional supervision. You plan and shoot your film by yourself and can take a complete DVD home with you at the end of the workshop.

Workshops

For young people from 11 to 14 years

In a collective discussion with an artist, we investigate selected artworks of a current exhibition. After this, the focus is on one's own artistic designs. In our studios, you explore and transform your impressions: through drawing, painting, sculpting, and experimenting with new materials and techniques - your own work emerges.

Workshops for children 6-10 and 11-14 years of age take place simultaneously to accomodate syblings. Participants in Image Counter Image workshops should be 13 years or older.

VJ-ing / German

13 years and up

An introduction for all those who are interested in combining images and music and would like to become familiar with the art of the "visual jockey" (VJ). We film sequences at the exhibition and around the Haus der Kunst; then produce the recorded images with the appropriate music at two media sets with special VJ software. We experiment with juxtaposing images and video effects. This will create a personal little production that you can then present to your family and friends. We do this live, because VJ-ing draws its strength from the moment, from the spectators, the space, and the mood.

Happy Birthday Party!

Make your party a special one: short movies, VJ-ing, a mega-poster, a self-portrait. Chose your favourite! Your birthday should be an unique occasion. We can offer the following: unique rooms and contact with artists who can answer (almost) any question related to the current exhibition and help you realise your artistic ideas. What do you have to bring with you? Drinks, cake, fun and lots of friends. Drinks and cake can be ordered from the museum's own café. 

Shoot your own birthday video
We take a look at film effects: What feelings does a film generate, what creative possibilities are available to the author? Lighting, sound, directing, editing and post/production are all a part of the process, as are camera work and learning the language of images. Participants plan and shoot their film on their own and can take a complete DVD home at the end of the workshop.

VJ-Workshop for your birthday
We will take a camera and film sequences at the exhibition and around the Haus der Kunst.
Two media sets will be available with special VJ software to mix the recorded images with suitable music. We will experiment with image superimpositions and thereby generate "live visuals" – live mixing. This will result a short own production that you can then present to friends live.

Creative workshop
In a conversation with an artist we explore select artworks from a current exhibition. Afterwards, you can focus on your own artistic work. We then go to the studio to take a closer look at our impressions: You can draw, paint, sculpt and try out new materials and techniques – allowing your own individual work to emerge.

Private groups

You can book all programmes for children and youths privately as well. You can determine time and duration depending on the occasion. You can choose the date at your leisure, even weekends and holidays.
