From 2003 to 2011, the visual identity of Haus der Kunst was cared for and fostered by Thomas Mayfried. As an institution associate programmatically with the cinema, theatre and circus, while also referencing the itself as a building: the Haus der Kunst was one of the National Socialist regime's first propagandistic architectural projects. The historic interior design, as well as the original inscriptions in upper case lettering were largely still in existence. Thomas Mayfried introduced the opposite: lower case writing and asymmetry. The exhibition "Ephemera" provides an insight into the designer's studio and his designing process of. In addition, it reveals all his influences and favorite inspirations: works by Otl Aicher, Daniel Buren, Dan Graham, William Klein, Dieter Roth, and others.
