The Long Night of Munich Museums

On the Long Night of Munich's Museums, Haus der Kunst will be open from 7 pm-2 am. The following exhibitions may be visited free of charge with your Long Night ticket:

• Frank Bowling: Mappa Mundi 
"Frank Bowling: Mappa Mundi" presents a comprehensive overview of rare and never-before exhibited large-scale paintings along with other works by the Guyanese-born British painter Frank Bowling.

• Thomas Struth: Figure Ground
This exhibition of the renowned German photographer Thomas Struth (born in 1954), presents a comprehensive survey of his genre-defining oeuvre. Covering four decades of work and every phase of his career, the exhibition focuses on Struth's social interests, which represent the important forces of his influential artistic development.

• Kapsel 07: Oscar Murillo. Going Forth: The Institute of Reconciliation
• Kapsel 08: Polina Kanis. The Procedure
The capsule exhibitions at Haus der Kunst offer young, international emerging artists the opportunity to present new works in an institutional context. The fourth edition of the exhibition series pairs Colombian-born, London-based artist Oscar Murillo and Russian media artist Polina Kanis.

• Archive Gallery: Munich, summer 1937. "Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung" and "Entartete Kunst"
The new presentation in the Archive Gallery is designed as a "reading room". The focus is the summer of 1937 in Munich, when the new Haus der Deutschen Kunst opened with the first "Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung", and the vilified show "Entartete Kunst" [Degenerate Art] was presented concurrently in the gallery building in the nearby Hofgarten.

• DER ÖFFENTLICHKEIT — VON DEN FREUNDEN HAUS DER KUNST: Sarah SzeFor the fifth edition of Der Öffentlichkeit — Von den Freunden Haus der Kunst, American artist Sarah Sze created Centrifuge, a new site-specific installation.

• Again and Again — Sammlung Goetz at Haus der Kunst Artists: Doug Aitken, Matthew Barney, Candice Breitz, Brice Dellsperger, Tracey Emin, Mathilde ter Heijne, Mark Leckey, Kristin Lucas, Bjørn Melhus, Cindy Sherman, Ryan Trecartin

The Golden Bar and Walther König bookstore will be open as well.
