Robin Rhode, Walk Off, 2007

Edition 2007

In baseball, a team immediately leaves the field after a "walk-off home run". For Robin Rhode, the "walk off" is the last work in a series or the last line of a drawing; one that sets the tone for the entire work. With this last image he dismisses the viewer from the work.

The presentation in Haus der Kunst was the first comprehensive solo exhibition of the artist's work in a European institution. The starting point was the consideration of drawing in the expanded sense. On view were drawings, photographs, animations, film projects, slide projections, and sculptures.
